Gucci Continuum: A Circular Narrative by Vault
Visionary designers, brands, and artists are invited to participate in Vault’s ongoing dialogue between past and future, extending the life of unused Gucci fabrics and accessories by incorporating them into their own unique expressions.
A collection, a sequence, a progression of values: Gucci Continuum expands the creative capacity of the House’s concept space to transcend time by infusing yesterday’s materials into tomorrow’s designs.
The first collection sees deadstock Gucci fabrics and past pieces integrated into a series of sneakers by Vans; bomber jackets by Alpha Industries and Slam Jam; corsets by Alice Pons; ready-to-wear by Collina Strada, Rave Review, EGONLAB, and PROLETA RE ART; bags by Hodakova; hats by Call of the Void; as well as art pieces by DRX Romanelli. Through this circular approach, familiar motifs find themselves on a new pathway towards a diminishing environmental impact.
To present the initiative, art director and photographer Max Siedentopf has opted for a pared-down approach with collages placing the focus on the regenerated Gucci materials that the creators have used to reflect their own aesthetic universes. Echoing the spirit of Gucci Continuum, everything was shot locally and with no props to reduce environmental impact as much as possible.
The first Gucci Continuum collection featuring eleven creatives will launch on March 16, with more noteworthy voices bringing their interpretations of past Gucci materials to Vault on an ongoing basis.
