An exploration of duality becomes a statement of individuality as the Spring Summer 2023 collection explores the ways in which the House approaches its double nature through the element of surprise.
In the Spring Summer 2023 fashion show, 68 sets of identical twins walked two separate runways divided by a partition, which came up for the finale to reveal the game of reflection being played and to create a moment for the siblings to walk hand-in-hand. While each twin mirrored the other, each pair echoed the House’s ability to tell its ever-evolving story in new and unexpected ways.
The campaign picks up this narrative thread, as twins present the new collection that hovers between the classic and unpredictable. In a historic Italian villa, the identical siblings are captured by Joanna Piotrowska in images that catch the ways archival emblems are reinterpreted, even in the slightest ways.
Two sets of hands present key accessories, such as an equestrian-inspired bag that first appeared in 1981 as an example of “leather in motion” and now an expression of heritage in evolution. Signature loafers become distinct with a heart-shaped toe, a tailored suit via a ‘G-string’ from the 1990s. Gizmo from the film ‘Gremlins’ makes an appearance, furthering the theme of the other self, while the Interlocking G distinguishes a new quilted handbag, as well as the curtain chain detail of mask-style sunglasses. Each emblem traced and twisted to animate that human instinct to present the self in an eye-catching fashion.
