Backstage at Gucci Cruise 2020, multi-disciplinary artist Sean Vegezzi uncovers ideas of beauty that often go unexplored.
“In this short film, security guards from Gucci’s Cruise 2020 fashion show are given an opportunity to contribute to an oblique discourse surrounding beauty. Models and security guards engage with each other’s ideas, creating a platform for these oft-ignored critics to share their ideas on aesthetics,” said Sean Vegezzi.
“Security guards not only have unfettered access to artifacts, but they also bear witness to the viewers’ relationships to the objects and the space. What do these guards see that we may have overlooked? What do they think other people think is beautiful?”
Shot across multiple mediums to relay a sense of different time periods communicating with one another, the resulting film is an inclusive and empowering creation that reveals an unexpected and unique perspective on the concept of beauty.
