Musician Kelsey Lu remembers her childhood in North Carolina, explaining how she overcame isolation with music in the first of three episodes of ‘Growing Pains’--the video and podcast series in collaboration with Dazed Beauty to celebrate the Gucci Bloom family of fragrances.
Gucci Beauty and Dazed Beauty have partnered up to talk with three young talented artists about the emotional difficulties experienced during adolescence. “I always really felt within my own world, I’m constantly evolving and growing,” mentions Lu at the beginning of her interview. The classically trained cellist left her hometown in Charlotte, North Carolina and ever since has been on an incredible artistic journey. On the podcast she opens up about the relation with her parents, building self-confidence and how music has always been a vital part of her life at home.
“I think my parents wanted me to go down the path that was theirs, a path that led them towards their truth,” and explains: “For them it was a protection but for me it was a constraint.”
