Mindful Travel Accessories

Luggage and other travel accessories from Gucci Off The Grid, a collection that was designed for those mindful of their environmental impact, are showcased in a special series of images and video created in collaboration with biannual arts and culture magazine and creative studio So It Goes. Photographed by Daria Kobayashi Ritch, model, artist, and creative consultant Carolyn Murphy, along with art critic and writer Antwaun Sargent are captured in an oasis-like setting as they go ‘off the grid’ in Los Angeles.

Gucci Off The Grid’s main material is ECONYL®, regenerated nylon 100% obtained from pre and post-consumer waste, such as abandoned fishing nets and carpets – including plastics that harm marine life and old materials that will likely end up in landfills which will be regenerated into a new high-quality yarn. Other components of Off The Grid items are made from recycled materials and more sustainable alternatives such as the House’s own Demetra, which is crafted from animal-free raw materials that are primarily from sustainable, renewable, and bio-based sources.
 

This collection speaks to the House’s ethos of establishing new ways in which sustainability can power creativity and underline Gucci’s values, moving away from fashion’s traditional, linear model, and supporting a new vision in which circularity is not the exception for design and creation, but integrated as part of the process.
