As the first luxury fashion House to delve into Swiss-made timepieces in 1972, Gucci enters the arena of high watchmaking with a collection designed by Creative Director Alessandro Michele.
Neuchâtel – the headquarters and home of Gucci watches, is where the House’s watch design know-how comes together. The new collections are a fusion of Gucci's innate Italian style and Swiss expertise—in La Chaux-de-Fonds, quality control, assembly and diamond setting take place, while dials are crafted in Gucci’s Fabbrica Quadranti facility in the Canton of Ticino, a dial maker company employing the latest technological methods in tandem with highly skilled handwork.
The GUCCI 25H's streamlined silhouette was inspired by the sleek forms of contemporary architecture and marks the House's debut into the world of high watchmaking. With an-ultra slim case, the watch encapsulates the House’s aesthetic and highlights the brand’s understanding of fine-watchmaking codes.
The name, GUCCI 25H, is attributed to a particularly symbolic talisman for Creative Director Alessandro Michele.
Taking cues from the world of skateboarding, The Grip watch’s name recalls the way sneakers stick to the grip tape on a skateboard. Presented in four new precious iterations, Grip Gold has an agenda-setting design that balances intricate crafts with cutting-edge techniques and technology. The collection is made of three styles featuring an alligator strap matching the color of their dial and one entirely crafted from yellow gold.
Reimagined in four transparent modern shades, Grip Sapphire combines a retro-digital look with precious, technological materials. Crafted from sapphire crystal, this Jump Hour watch is defined by contrasting colored glass on the minutes and hour windows—a playful technical detail speaking to Gucci’s approach to design. A transparent tonal rubber strap embossed with the Interlocking G motif and a steel ardillon buckle complete the style.
Drawing on the eclectic spirit of the House, nature-inspired motifs blend into four exceptional designs: The G-Timeless Dancing Bees, a compelling new timepiece with a high jewelry touch with bees that shimmer and move on the dial. Also presented are the G-Timeless Automatic with bee motif, jeweled hard-stone dials and precious skin straps; The mystical G-Timeless with moon phases; And the G-Timeless Pavé, a white-diamond encrusted automatic watch with alligator strap.
Part of the fascination for lavish nature and wild animals that animates the Gucci narrative, the lion is a recurring symbol of the House. Taking the shape of a bold timepiece crafted from precious materials, the Gucci Lion Head secret watch carries a centuries-old tradition of specialized designs with hidden dials. It is enriched with precious stones highlighting the jewelry-like nature of the timepiece.
The High Watchmaking collection can be discovered by appointment at Gucci’s first dedicated boutique at Place Vendôme, Paris.
