1947年，二战后的意大利很难获取到传统原材料，在富有创意的佛罗伦萨手工艺者的帮助下，品牌创始人Guccio Gucci大胆创新，决定采用轻质耐用的竹节充当提手，自此竹节手柄成为品牌一大标志性象征。在接下来的几十年里，竹节手袋成为好莱坞女星和国际名流的必备单品，这一款式也逐渐成为全球时尚风向标。
