Friends of the House gathered for the 13th annual event in Los Angeles co-chaired by trustee Eva Chow and Leonardo DiCaprio, honoring artist Simone Leigh and filmmaker Baz Luhrmann.
The gala celebrated artist Simone Leigh, whose multifaceted practice situates questions of Black female-identified subjectivity at the center of contemporary art discourse, along with the visionary filmmaker Baz Luhrmann, whose cinematic language continues to captivate audiences through a unique fusion of classical artistry and bold, contemporary style.
With a special performance by Charli xcx, the gala’s proceeds go towards underwriting LACMA’s initiative to make film more central to the museum’s curatorial programming, while also funding LACMA’s wider mission. This includes exhibitions, acquisitions, and educational programming that explore the intersection of art and film.
