A CLOSER LOOK
The Fall Winter 2024 collection by Creative Director Sabato De Sarno represented his way of dreaming. His fashion was an exercise in which he captured the extraordinary where the ordinary was expected through small subversive gestures, different perspectives, and an eschewal of the rules. Coats, some with a hidden buttoning on the back, took center stage, representing meticulous acts of craftsmanship and a culture of exceptional technique. Embroidered shifts in lace and velvet played on transparency and layering while knitwear pieces were enriched with sequins and a crystal fringe.
Several new handbags with signature elements debuted on the runway this season, accompanying the looks in the collection’s distinctive palette. The pillowy and lightweight GG Milano top handle bag is crafted in nappa with a naturally silky feel while another unique design features a half-moon silhouette and both are distinguished by a new flat variation of the Double G logo. A bucket bag is fitted with double bamboo handles for an emblematic take on a classic style.
Echoing the House’s historic connection to the world of equestrianism, the shoe selection included horse-riding boots in knee-high and over-the-knee variations with Web pull tabs and an elongated Horsebit detail as well as a platform slingback version of the iconic Horsebit loafer topped with the eponymous hardware. Archival necklaces in galvanized gold with a studded motif woven with a long ribbon complemented every look in the show, while cat-eye acetate sunglasses added a retro-inspired finishing touch.
