‘Gucci Stream’ is a new video series in partnership with HYPEBEAST that explores the corners and subcultures of user-generated videos online. Inspired by the format that online streamers have popularized, for the first episode, The Shoe Surgeon and Brittany Byrd are captured as they unbox the House’s T-shirts and sweatshirts featuring the 25 Eschatology print and the new Gucci Basket sneakers.
With sneakers being his main passion point, reviewing the Gucci Basket Sneaker on camera was second nature for The Shoe Surgeon. The sneaker, coming in several color renditions, is inspired by the impact that basketball has had on street culture and style, and is made mainly from Demetra, Gucci’s new groundbreaking material that was developed after two years of in-house research and development. Durable, resilient and supple with an eco-friendly ethos, Demetra is created using efficient processes with animal-free raw materials that are primarily from sustainable, renewable, and bio-based sources.
