A mix of contrasting elements shapes new bag Gucci Zumi.
Experimental musician and actress Zumi Rosow—who also walked the Gucci Spring Summer 2019 runway in Paris’s Théâtre Le Palace with the bag in hand, gives the design its name. Crafted in smooth, grainy and lustrous python, ostrich, lizard and crocodile leathers, Gucci Zumi’s hardware combines two of the most historical House motifs, the Interlocking G and Horsebit. In gold and silver-coloured metals, the hardware is replicated from a rare piece in the Gucci archives chosen by Alessandro Michele for its contemporary appeal.
The bag’s structure and organized interior takes form in diverse silhouettes—a shoulder bag, a top handle and a mini top handle, striking a contrast with its namesake. Unconventional and modern, the epitome of a free spirit, Zumi Rosow in many ways embodies Alessandro Michele’s vision of beauty, which is inextricably linked to an individual’s personality and attitude.
