To create Gucci Bloom’s rich white floral fragrance, creative director Alessandro Michele selected ingredients with master perfumer Alberto Morillas to express his idea of an abundant, beautiful garden.
Inside the scent a trio of essences create a new olfactory narrative. Instead of a classical pyramid construction–top, heart and base notes–Gucci Bloom opens fully at once with noble and rare flowers. Tuberose absolute harvested from India is interlaced with Jasmine bud extract to leave a fresh white petal perfume on the skin. Rangoon Creeper, used in fragrance-making for the first time, is a vine from South India that changes from white to pink to red when it blooms and has a slightly powdery feminine floral fragrance.
Alberto Morillas: When we started to create this fragrance together, we had this dream: an imaginary garden.
Alessandro Michele: It’s true. The most important thing was also to really feel the green inside, the garden. Because I didn’t want to smell something that is just a perfume.
Alberto Morillas: A beautiful garden, a type of Eden. I started with this Jasmine sambac from India, Tuberose and Musk. And Rangoon Creeper, which adds richness to Gucci Bloom.
