Far from central Tokyo’s chaos in the residential and peaceful district of Nakameguro lies the ultimate store for analog-lovers, waltz. Going against the trend for Japan’s endless appetite for everything digital, waltz’s owner Taro Tsunoda opened an all-analog store in 2015. The vintage-style boutique's shelves are laden with music tapes, old VHS, cassette players, books, vinyl records, fashion and design magazines and stereo equipment, all methodically displayed. Waltz offers customers many ways to get lost in nostalgia and listen to music from diverse genres, decades and countries.
Waltz and Gucci The House and waltz share a love for the past, a passion for history and for vintage items, seen as a source of inspiration for creativity. The area of Meguro and its nostalgic atmosphere, where waltz is located, evokes the set of the Fall Winter 2016 campaign which was shot in Tokyo by Glen Luchford.
