Continuing this successful partnership, Gucci once again celebrated ‘Gucci for F.F.A.W.N.’ day on Friday, September 10, 2010.
The Gucci 5th Avenue Flagship store hosted the annual ‘Gucci for F.F.A.W.N. Day’ to coincide with Fashion’s Night Out, bringing two high-profile events together to honor the work of founder Mary J. Blige and F.F.A.W.N. Gucci donated twenty percent of the day’s sales in the NY 5th Avenue store to the FFAWN Scholars Program, supporting its mission to help all women gain the confidence and skills they need to reach their full individual potential.

To benefit the Foundation For the Advancement of Women Now, Inc. (F.F.A.W.N.), Gucci and Mary J. Blige celebrated September 16th, 2009 as ‘Gucci for F.F.A.W.N. Day’ in New York. Gucci donated ten percent of the day’s sales from its New York 5th Avenue Flagship store to F.F.A.W.N. Gucci toasted the evening with a private in-store cocktail party co-hosted by Mary J. Blige with guests including Alicia Keys, Estelle, Devon Aoki, Leigh Lezark, Serena Williams, Mark Ronson, Donald Trump, Russell Simmons and Lebron James.
In honor of Gucci for FFAWN Day, Mary J. Blige hosted a lighting ceremony at the Empire State Building earlier in the day to light the world-famous icon in FFAWN’s colors—purple, yellow and white.
On September 17, 2009, Gucci also launched exclusively in the New York 5th Avenue Flagship store, a limited edition black PVD Twirl watch specifically designed by Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini to commemorate the partnership. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each limited edition Twirl watch were donated to F.F.A.W.N.
