The sustainability contest was conceived by Ever Manifesto with the aim of supporting and promoting initiatives inspired by “green vision” within the fashion, design and architecture industries.
The young designers from IFM were asked to take inspiration from Gucci’s famous Bamboo bag applying the principle of minimum environmental impact in their creations and also the values of innovation, appeal, and authenticity that have characterised the history of Gucci's success over the years.
Taking inspiration from the bamboo theme, Ever Manifesto invited Stefano Tonchi, Editor in Chief of W Magazine, to guest edit a special edition of the occasional newspaper entitled, "Ever Bamboo." Entirely sponsored by Gucci and printed on recycled paper with a bamboo paper cover, the 50 page publication explores stories of people who have supported the use of bamboo through fashion, culture, architecture, design, gardens, art, and food.
