GUCCI CELEBRATES THE DEBUT OF GUCCI COSMETICS WITH CHARLOTTE CASIRAGHI

(New York)  June 4, 2014 – Gucci celebrated the launch of its long-awaited make up line, Gucci Cosmetics, with a private cocktail party in honor of Charlotte Casiraghi. The event, hosted by Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini, took place at The Carlyle hotel.

During the evening, the new cosmetics line was unveiled. The collection includes Gucci Eye, Gucci Face, Gucci Lip, Gucci Nail and preparation products for the skin.

“For me, beauty and fashion are always connected. One doesn’t exist without the other. Make up is a key element of the Gucci runway show – it helps communicate the essence of the Gucci woman. Eyes, skin, lips – they’re like accessories, all working together to create an unmistakable look,” said Frida Giannini.

“Finally Gucci is entering the world of color cosmetics, and is doing so with a truly special collection that is quintessentially Gucci,” said Joanne Crewes, P&G Prestige President.  The event culminated with the showing of the advertising campaign featuring Charlotte Casiraghi and with a special performance by Say Lou Lou.

Incredibly intimate, the print campaign for the Gucci Cosmetics collection photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot and digital film directed by Fabien Baron capture Casiraghi in a series of stolen moments which bring the spirit of the Gucci Cosmetics collection to life via Casiraghi’s mesmerizing beauty and modern allure.
“I have really enjoyed my relationship with Frida over these last four years and I am now excited to work with her again on this signature project. I have great admiration for her both as a designer and a strong and visionary woman,” said Charlotte Casiraghi.

A shared passion for horse riding brought Giannini and Casiraghi together. Compelled by her modern elegance, Giannini designed an exclusive equestrian wardrobe for Casiraghi in 2010 to compete in the Global Champions Tour show jumping event.

Casiraghi has since been captured for the Gucci’s “Forever Now” advertising campaign series shot by famed fashion photographers Peter Lindbergh, Inez & Vinoodh, Mert & Marcus and Bruce Weber.
