Gucci’s Rome
store is located at the foot of the prestigious Spanish Steps on Via Condotti
in Rome on the site of Gucci’s original Rome boutique, first
opened in 1938. Today the space blends a new
contemporary design conceived by Frida Giannini with original aspects of the
store lovingly restored.
The new entrance replicates the
famous door of the Dolce Vita era, where 20th century movie stars and royals
were caught by the paparazzi of the time. Inside, art deco glass and gold plate
lamp shades, inspired by the original fittings, have been re-produced by
artisan craftsmen, while an 18th century vaulted ceiling has been newly
revealed on the ground floor.
- Love it 1
Rome’s heritage collection is offered
exclusively in Via Condotti 8 where a room separated by a gold GG screen has
been created specifically to house it. Located on the ground floor, shoppers
will be drawn into the unique space by a video installation which highlights
iconic images of Gucci’s rich history. The Heritage Room is designed to
function much like an exhibition in which limited edition exclusive products rotate in a dedicated
space.
With its limited distribution and maximum expression of luxury, Gucci Heritage is destined for a selective clientele who demands exclusivity and the utmost in quality.
