On 1st April, 2009, Alexandra Shulman and VOGUE hosted a special dinner in honour of Frida Giannini, who was in London to unveil her new design concept for Gucci's refurbished Sloane Street flagship store.

The unique event took place at the new Saatchi Gallery, Charles Saatchi's recently opened gallery at the former 'Duke of York's HQ' in Chelsea.

The Gallery's first floor was transformed for the evening with bespoke décor, featuring customised black and gold fixtures, the signature colours of the new flagship Gucci store that was inaugurated the night before. The 150 specially invited guests, including Claudia Schiffer, Sophie Dahl, Jamie Cullum, Henry Cavill, Peaches and Pixie Geldof, Erin O’Connor, Jaquetta Wheeler, Elizabeth Jagger, Tom Parker Bowles and Suzy Menkes, enjoyed a candle lit dinner featuring a Tuscan inspired menu.

Making the evening's toast Alex Shulman said, "It may be the G20 tonight but here we have the GG200. We're here to celebrate the redesigned Gucci store on Sloane Street and to welcome Frida to London. With recently announced great results and general good news Frida proves to be not only a brilliant creative director but something of a magician."

Frida Giannini then introduced Richard Ashcroft, former lead singer of The Verve, who performed an acoustic session.
