The PPR Corporate Foundation for Women’s Dignity and Rights was launched by François-Henri Pinault, CEO of PPR, Gucci’s parent company, with these words:
“The Foundation will pursue two goals: fight violence against women and empower women to fully contribute to their own development and that of their families and communities.”
The PPR Foundation works with NGOs around the world and carries out its own projects in support of women who are working to improve their lives, and those of the people around them, in the face of enormous challenges.
Shelters for victims of abuse and education programs are organized, as well support for women as social entrepreneurs, in areas where micro finance can transform the conditions of people in the direst need of help.

Frida Giannini feels keenly the responsibility of her position. “I
myself am fortunate to have been able to achieve the ultimate in my
career goals at a company that offers equal opportunity to all. It’s
shocking to me that gender related abuse still exists in 2010. From the
persecution of ethnic groups, to sexual abuse, to domestic violence.
None of this should happen and none of it can be ignored.”
The PPR Corporate Foundation for Women’s Dignity and Rights fights violence against women and promote women’s empowerment. It develops and supports solidarity projects in partnership with local and international NGOs and encourage staff mobilization. The Foundation structures its action around four key pillars: support to projects fighting violence and promoting women’s empowerment, sponsoring social entrepreneurs, awareness raising and prevention programmes, advice and support to Group brands and companies.
