Gucci announces "Bamboo Forever" - an itinerant display dedicated to the iconic Gucci Bamboo Bag and its singular heritage.  Bridging past and present, this traveling display perfectly captures the duality of Gucci’s rich traditions as well as its modern day allure.

Tracing the unique history of this 64 year old design, the display features vintage product from Gucci’s own archives together with archive photography of personalities, including Ingrid Bergman and Vanessa Redgrave, carrying the Bamboo throughout the years.

Additional historical images include the production and advertising of this special handbag.  An accompanying video shows the bag’s evolution over the years as well as the series of production steps that are still precisely followed today in Gucci’s factory in Florence.

This unique in-store arrival affords clients the opportunity to learn the story of this iconic item and its place in fashion history, while at the same time to enjoy the “New Bamboo”—the 21st century version of a classic, reinterpreted by Creative Director Frida Giannini.

“The Bamboo” Exhibition will travel to key cities throughout Europe where it will be open to the public for a select number of days.
