GUCCI LAUNCHES SIXTH SPECIAL EDITION BAG TO BENEFIT UNICEF
THE GUCCI NICE SHOPPER BAG FOR UNICEF
In its eighth year of partnership with UNICEF, Gucci is pleased to introduce a special edition “Gucci for UNICEF”
shopper bag. As in previous years, Gucci will donate 25 percent of the
retail price of each bag to support UNICEF education programs. The
House’s donations from sales of the Gucci Nice shopper bag will benefit
UNICEF’s “Schools for Africa” and “Schools for Asia” initiatives, which
aim to provide access to quality education for millions of the most
vulnerable children.

As part of her on-going commitment to the partnership, Creative Director
Frida Giannini designed this exclusive version of the House’s signature
Gucci Nice shopper in antique rose micro Guccissima leather. Inspired
by the relaxed attitude of France’s southern coast, the Gucci Nice
design features the spur detail – a timeless symbol from the House’s
riding heritage. In metal with a light-gold finish, the spur hardware
joins handles that recall equestrian equipment. This functional
accessory is the perfect understated, on-the-go style to carry all day
long.
Giannini, honored in 2011 by the U.S. Fund for UNICEF at the inaugural Women of Compassion Luncheon, commented, “The design is the latest classic that we dedicate to UNICEF’s work helping disadvantaged children who may otherwise not have the chance to go to school.

At Gucci we believe that every child has the right to an education,
because an education is forever. Seeing first hand UNICEF’s work in
Malawi changed my perspective forever, and today I am proud to support
both the ‘Schools for Africa’ and ‘Schools for Asia’ initiatives.”
“Gucci’s steadfast commitment to UNICEF’s Schools for Africa and Asia initiative has helped provide more than six million children with a safe and protective environment to learn and play,” said Leila Pakkala, Director of UNICEF’s Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division. “We thank Gucci and their customers for their dedication to helping build a world where every child has access to a quality education.”
The “Gucci for UNICEF” shopper bag will be available in Gucci stores worldwide and on Gucci.com, from June 1st, 2013 to May 31st, 2014.
