GUCCI CELEBRATES COMMON HERITAGE WITH KYOTO IN OCCASION OF 90TH ANNIVERSARY YEAR
In celebration of its 90th anniversary, Gucci inaugurated a special archival exhibition at “Rokuon-ji”, a World Heritage site known as the Golden Temple. President and CEO Patrizio di Marco was present to mark the beginning of a series of exhibits honoring the connection between Gucci's birth city, Florence, and its sister city Kyoto through a common tradition of artisanal craftsmanship, a cultural treasure shared by both Italy and Japan.
As exemplified by Gucci, Florence is renowned for the art of leather craftsmanship and comparable to this heritage is Kyoto's own tradition of arts. An international cultural exchange aiming to promote the value of traditional craftsmanship and educate future generations, the exhibits convey a universal message that the artisan's expertise transcends time and borders.
