December 8th, Paris - The fifth edition of the Gucci Paris Masters took place this past weekend at the Parc des Expositions in Villepinte, Paris. Passionate equestrian riders and friends of the House were invited to attend several competitions throughout the three day event.
Saturday marked the first highlight of the weekend with The Style & Competition for Amade Challenge, orchestrated by Gucci-sponsored Charlotte Casiraghi. This competition paired 5-star professional riders and talented amateurs into 10 teams of two, each with different sponsors. The competitors were judged by Marina Hands, Noémie Lenoir and Nikos Aliagas. A 180.000 euro donation went to AMADE Mondiale, of which H.R.H Princess Caroline de Hanover is the President.
The culmination of the three days was The Gucci Grand Prix, which carried a prize of 350.000 euro, and brought together the best 40 riders in the world. Participants included some of the biggest names in the discipline such as Marc Houtzager (NED) 2012 Gucci Grand Prix winner, Penelope Leprevost (FRA), Ben Maher (GB) World n°2, Scott Brash (GB) World n°1, Marcus Ehning (GER) World n°5, and Edwina Tops-Alexander (AUS) World n°10.
The winner of this year’s Gucci Grand Prix was Kevin Staut (FRA). Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini and Gucci President and CEO Patrizio di Marco presented him with the trophy.
