Frida Giannini Designs GG Flag Collection Coinciding with Expansion of UNICEF School Initiatives
Gucci is pleased to introduce the GG Flag Collection for UNICEF, an exclusive line of t-shirts and accessories, designed by Creative Director Frida Giannini to celebrate the launch of UNICEF’s “Schools for Asia” initiative.
In its seventh year of partnership with UNICEF, alongside the on-going support for the “Schools for Africa” initiative, Gucci is one of the first to partner for fundraising dedicated to “Schools for Asia,” which aims to provide access to quality basic education for disadvantaged children in China. Gucci will make an initial donation of 350.000 US dollars to “Schools for Asia” in the name of the Gucci children’s collection with a specific focus on the Yunnan and Chongqing provinces.

Meanwhile 25% percent of the retail price of each item of the GG Flag
Collection that is sold will be donated to provide further support to
both of UNICEF's school initiatives, which provide quality education to
millions of children and a safe environment for more vulnerable girls.
Inspired by the international vision and global appeal of the House of Gucci, the GG Flag Collection includes a series of items destined to become collectibles, ranging from tees to handbags and zip-around wallets - all distinguished by a new stylization of the interlocking GG logo, with the colors of different national flags from around the world.

Frida Giannini, honored in 2011 by the U.S. Fund for UNICEF at the
inaugural Women of Compassion Luncheon, commented, “As combinations of
colors are symbolic in flags, representing ideals or allegiance, this
new collection further signifies Gucci's continuous commitment to
improving the quality of education in the most disadvantaged areas and
for the most vulnerable children. I am proud to support these important
initiatives as an education is a gift forever.”
On a light grey base, the cotton jersey t-shirts sport the GG print with the colors of Italy, France, UK, Germany and Russia, and of western and eastern countries from USA and Brazil to Japan, spanning the Emirates and Korea.
